First Minister Paul Givan and deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill have launched a public appointment competition for five new Victims & Survivors Service (VSS) Board Members.

First Minister Paul Givan said:

“I am pleased to launch this recruitment competition for new VSS Board Members. The VSS Board has the crucial role in overseeing and ensuring that the valuable work being taken forward by the Victims & Survivors Service continues to be delivered.’’

Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill said:

“The Victims & Survivors Service provides vital support and services to groups and individuals and I would like to encourage anyone with the relevant skills and experience to apply.”

The Victims and Survivors Service is a Non-Departmental Public Body of the Executive Office which provides services and support to victims and survivors of the Troubles/Conflict, Historical Institutional Abuse and Mother and Baby Homes, based on individually assessed needs.

  3. The posts will receive remuneration of £125 per day up to a maximum of £3,750 per annum.
  4. The appointment will be for a period of 4 years. Individuals will then be eligible for reappointment for one further term.
  5. Applications will be welcomed from all sections of the community.  Women, younger people, people with disabilities and people from ethnic minority communities are currently under-represented in public appointments. Applications from members of these groups would be particularly welcome.
