National Statistics – Protocol and Compliance

'National Statistics' is a quality marker applied to certain of the United Kingdom's official statistics.

About National Statistics

Statistics labelled as 'National Statistics' must meet certain criteria. They should, for example, be fit for purpose, methodologically sound, politically independent and transparently produced.

All National Statistics are produced in accordance with the UK Statistics Authority's Code of Practice for Official Statistics and under the Statistics and Registration Services Act 2007.

Pre-release access

Northern Ireland legislation is in place to allow pre-release access to Official Statistics. All departments have published Statements of Compliance with the legislation. The TEO statement of compliance can be accessed below:
