    About the Project

The project sought to enhance the existing Rural Transport Fund Service ‘Dial A Lift’ (DAL) and supported the provision of rural transport services to local residents who had difficulty accessing essential local services via public transport. The project aimed to address social exclusion and isolation particularly in rural areas, improve access to essential services to improve the health and wellbeing and improve access to training and employment opportunities.

This project was delivered by multiple partners including DFI NI Public Transport Services Division (formerly DRD), North Coast Community Transport, CDM Community Transport, Out & About Community Transport and South Antrim Community Transport.

    Progress to date

This project has completed delivery. SIF has supported the development of communities across the Northern zone by increasing access to a wide range of essential community services and activities that support health and wellbeing, training and employment, independent living and social interaction. SIF has also positively contributed towards both DFI and TEO strategic objectives regarding the availability of rural transport options and has made a positive impact towards rural social inclusion.
