Project Name:

CRUN

Zone:

Northern

Category:

Capital

Social Investment Fund Outcome:

Increasing Community Services

Status:

Operational – Construction Complete

Funding awarded:

£462,000

About the Project:

The project was promoted by Coleraine Rural and Urban Network (CRUN) which represents a consortium of three organisations (Causeway Volunteer Centre, Causeway Citizens Advice Bureau and Age Concern) providing a range of services to 145 community and voluntary sector organisations within the Causeway area and has provided training to unemployed adults.

SIF provided funding (mainly for fit out) as part of a larger Community Hub project that had been initiated under the DSD Modernisation Fund.  The construction of new community resource centre with office, retail and conference facilities, has enabled CRUN to provide valuable community services to deprived communities in the SIF Northern Zone.

Progress to date and Impacts:

This project has completed construction and is operational.  SIF funding has contributed to the continued growth in service provision and resource and space requirements to meet community needs in the SIF Northern zone.
