    Consultation description

We want to prohibit and eradicate unjustifiable or harmful age discrimination against people aged 16 years and over in the provision of goods, facilities and services, charities, premises, education, public functions, and private clubs and associations, while recognising that there are times where it is justifiable and beneficial to treat people differently on the basis of age. The Programme for Government 2011-15 includes a commitment to extend age discrimination legislation to the provision of goods, facilities and services (commitment 38).
