The purpose of this research is to identify effective interventions in addressing child poverty that may be of use in a Northern Ireland context and to map existing provision in Northern Ireland.

The need for this research is driven by the Northern Ireland Executive’s target to eliminate child poverty by 2020, as set out by the Child Poverty Act (2010). The Act in Northern Ireland also places a responsibility on OFMDFM to report annually on measures that are being undertaken by NI Departments to address child poverty and to report on the effects of these measures.
