    About the Project

The aim of the project was to provide a fit for purpose community facility where people can access services to enhance their quality of life. Capital works were necessary to bring the building up to a modern fit for purpose standard that will comply with health and safety and DDA requirements and will address dereliction by making the building more attractive for community use.

The extensive renovation will allow the delivery of an enhanced range of community services including crèche facilities, health and wellbeing courses, employability and educational services and drug and alcohol dependency services.

    Progress to date

This project has completed construction and is operational. This project has enabled the provision of increased and enhanced vital community based services, brought support to the local economy, provided enhanced childcare facilities, supported employment, training and education and has regenerated the local area maximising the benefits of everyone in the South Belfast locale.

    Impacts

Monitoring and evaluation of all Social Investment Fund projects is carried out using “Outcomes Based Accountability” (OBA). Where SIF has funded capital works, the project provides quarterly “post-capital” data for a period of 3 years which details the positive impacts enabled by the capital works undertaken. The project has recently completed construction and OBA data collection is ongoing for the final capital and the final post capital infographics.
