Powerscreen is owned by Terex, a worldwide manufacturer of lifting and materials processing equipment, which has invested £100million across the Province since they purchased the local company in 1999.

Speaking following a tour of the new facility, Michelle O’Neill said:

“Your new headquarters are really impressive. It’s a physical demonstration of your success, and a welcome statement of your future ambition.

“Your growth on this site since the original Powerscreen days is a testament to entrepreneurial spirit and resilience. You have been instrumental in growing an engineering cluster here.

“You have set the standard in terms of quality and product development and you have been pioneers in research, development and innovation.”

Their new facility features a new open plan office space, informal collaboration areas as well as a modern employee wellness centre.

    Concluding, the First Minister said:

“It is companies like Terex that put us on the map and we are fortunate that you are located here. Your employment of thousands of people across the region is vital and we are proud to have you as a key part of the community.

“Congratulations on your fantastic new headquarters, I wish you continued success and I hope Terex continues to be a world class leader for many years to come.”

The visit was part of a busy day of engagements in mid-Ulster including a visit to her former primary school, Primate Dixon and a Cancer Research Big Breakfast event in Maghera.

    Notes to editors:

Terex is US owned multinational and is a major employer with over 2,000 employees across NI. Over last 10 years Invest NI has provided almost £4million in funding.
