Members of the public are being invited to come along to a series of community information sessions to discuss Ebrington and opportunities to make it even better.
Officials from Derry City and Strabane District Council will also be at the sessions to provide updates on progress on the new museum at Ebrington. The Derry ~ Londonderry North Atlantic (DNA) Museum will be a major tourism and cultural attraction for the city and the North West and is due to open its doors at Ebrington in 2026.
Urging people to have their say on the future of Ebrington, First Minister Michelle O’Neill said: “Regeneration and investment in the North West is essential and exciting. Realising the full potential of Ebrington will deliver a wide range of economic, social and cultural benefits for local communities, and showcase the city across the island and to the world.”
Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly said: “The Executive Office has invested over £32million in Ebrington in recent years. Exciting times lie ahead, and partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council and with local communities will develop more opportunities and even better ways of working together to deliver success.”
Ebrington is home to many businesses and organisations, and community, music, sporting and charity events take place throughout the year. The workshops will discuss ideas on inclusive and ambitious ways to support local communities and grow creative and cultural vibrancy at the site.
There will be three community information sessions: Tuesday 18th June – Walled City Brewery, Thursday 20th June – Studio 2 and Tuesday 25th June – Waterside Shared Village. Each of the sessions will start at 6:30pm.
