The Executive Office (TEO) has announced that the Kevin Watson Group (KWG), a local construction company, has signed a 999 year lease for the Cunningham Building (Building 4), at Ebrington.

The soon to be refurbished, state-of-the-art offices in the Cunningham Building will accommodate up to 40 staff in this expanding business.

Planning approval for office restoration for the building was granted by Derry City and Strabane District Council on 28 November 2018. Kevin Watson Group will invest up to £650,000 in the development and open their new offices next spring.

Dr Mark Browne, Director in The Executive Office, said: “We are delighted with this significant development which will bring sustainable jobs and private sector investment to Ebrington and the City. We look forward in the near future to announcing other opportunities which the TEO team have been working to deliver.”

This will allow us to expand our operations in Derry, making the Cunningham Building our new head office. It will create employment for an additional 20 staff on top of the existing 35 staff employed and allow our business to continue to expand, generating further high-end jobs in Derry.

“KWG has been in operation for over 30 years carrying out work across Ireland and the UK in the private, social and commercial sectors of the Industry. We wish to thank the Executive Office for presenting this opportunity to the market and we look forward to playing a key part in the exciting transformation of this wonderful site.’’
