Make your voice heard in the Programme for Government – Ross and Fearon

Junior Ministers, Alastair Ross and Megan Fearon have called on people to make their voices heard in the current Programme for Government (PfG) consultation.

Speaking after a meeting today with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, at which they highlighted the importance of collaborative working in the success of the new PfG, Junior Minister, Alastair Ross said:  “Key to the development and success of this PfG is partnership working.  Our first consultation on the framework resulted in over 800 responses; a record for any previous PfG.  We have listened to the feedback and hope that level of interest and engagement continues in this next stage of the process, which provides people with the opportunity to comment on the draft PfG.

“We all have our part to play in making a better Northern Ireland and I urge everyone to engage in this consultation process and tell us about the things that matter most and how we can improve them. By working together, in a spirit of partnership, we can make a real and tangible difference for the better.”  

Junior Minister, Megan Fearon said:  “The Executive wants to create a society which prospers through a strong, competitive, regionally balanced economy, where we live and work sustainably, and where people have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.  We want more people in better jobs and a more equal society where diversity is respected and celebrated.  These outcomes set out a bold vision for a better future for us all and the Executive is determined to turn that into reality.

“This PfG is a new way of doing things; a new way of tackling problems to make the biggest impact for our whole society.  We are working across boundaries and I encourage everyone who wants to help shape our future to have their say and contribute to our consultation before it closes on 23 December.”
