Fermanagh House

SIF provided funding of over £840,000 for the extension to Fermanagh House in Enniskillen which links and communities across rural Fermanagh with regional and voluntary sector service providers in Fermanagh. This will enable them to provide services on an outreach basis across rural County Fermanagh and will also provide a strategic focal point for supporting shared education in rural communities.

About the Project:

This project was designed to promote economic, social and connectivity benefits for the people of Fermanagh. The renovations provided an additional five offices, a kitchen, increased storage, two counselling rooms, two training/meeting rooms and a conference/events room.  This new, modern, community hub is a resource for the entire community and is utilised by many groups and charities and community/voluntary organisations allowing services to be utilised locally. A range of new community based services has been included in the new space including a dedicated community education resource and hot desks for regional groups and fledgling community initiatives and enterprises wanting a presence in the county.  The extra space has also attracted more organisations to deliver their services in Fermanagh.

Progress to date:

This project has been completed construction and is operational.  The benefits from this initiative in the SIF Western zone have reached right across the local communities increasing vital community services and connectivity, increasing employment opportunities and making it appealing for businesses to start up in areas which have suffered deprivation.

Impacts:

Monitoring and evaluation of all Social Investment Fund projects is carried out using “Outcomes Based Accountability” (OBA). Where SIF has funded capital works, the project provides quarterly “post-capital” data for a period of 3 years which details the positive impacts enabled by the capital works undertaken.  The Fermanagh House Project has completed its 3 years of post-capital monitoring. Below are the final capital and post capital infographics which highlight the key impacts of the project.
