    About the Project:

Youth Sport Omagh is a cross community social enterprise that provides sporting and physical activity opportunities and high quality facilities, primarily to young people, within the Omagh and surrounding areas. The project included the construction and upgrade of the sand based synthetic surface, as it no longer met the needs of the community, into a full sized multi-purpose 3G synthetic pitch. This development has enabled the organisation to offer more services, activities and sporting initiatives to the community to facilitate maximum community usage and benefit at the site.

    Progress to date:

This project has been completed construction and is operational. Along with the St Mary’s Banagher project, SIF investment has developed and enhanced two capital health and wellbeing sporting projects designed to enhance the physical health and wellbeing of individuals living in the SIF Western Zone. The state-of-the-art pitch and facilities have provided a foundation for a broader and more extensive range of sporting and community activities which will promote leisure, health, physical activity and support good relations in the surrounding areas.

    Impacts:

Monitoring and evaluation of all Social Investment Fund projects is carried out using “Outcomes Based Accountability” (OBA). Where SIF has funded capital works, the project provides quarterly “post-capital” data for a period of 3 years which details the positive impacts enabled by the capital works undertaken. The final capital infographic below highlights some of the key impacts of the project to date. The Youth Sport Omagh project is in the early stages of post capital OBA returns and OBA final capital infographic is attached below.
