  • Pathways to Employment

    Topics:
    • Social Change,
    • Social Investment Fund Outcomes

    Build pathways to employment by tackling educational under achievement and barriers to employment; tackling skills deficits and promoting jobs brokerage, widening access to the labour market, promoting business start-up and increasing sustainability through social enterprise.

    The strategic objectives of the Social Investment Fund are:

    • Pathways to Employment;
    • Addressing Deprivation;
    • Increasing Community Services; and
    • Addressing Dereliction

    Progress to date

    SIF provided funding to 19 revenue projects providing opportunities to increase employment potential through gaining valuable experience and training; opportunities to avail of early intervention services to support children and families to maximise their future potential and dedicated educational support to increase future potential. All 19 revenue projects with investment of £40.5 million have completed delivery.

    Local people in disadvantaged communities are now directly benefiting from the opportunities being provided from the Fund. To date over 58,000 people have benefitted from these revenue projects: over 6,000 through employment/training projects; over 29,000 through early intervention projects and over 22,000 through projects focused on education.

    The majority of projects contribute to more than one of the above objectives.

    There are 9 completed projects whose main focus was to address the Pathways to Employment objective. Click on the links below to view specific information relating to the completed projects:
