    About the Project

This project involved the purchase and refurbishment of premises in Sandy Row creating a dedicated, enhanced, training and education centre and social economy asset. This allowed Belfast South Community Resources (BSCR) to enhances the centre's sustainability and to support the provision of additional community services, including training provision and access to employment services. Refurbishment works were necessary to bring the building up to a modern fit for purpose standard that complied with health and safety and DDA requirements. The significant works have created much needed infrastructure in Sandy Row providing a direct opportunity for employment and creating a significant increase in provision for people with disabilities in the local area as a result of increased disability access. BSCR is now delivering increased digital focused services and aim to be a leading figure in digital skills delivery.

    Progress to date

This project has completed construction and is operational. This project has enhanced the provision of vital community based services, brought support to the local economy and regenerated the local area maximising the benefits of everyone in the Sandy Row locale.

    Impacts

Monitoring and evaluation of all Social Investment Fund projects is carried out using “Outcomes Based Accountability” (OBA). Where SIF has funded capital works, the project provides quarterly “post-capital” data for a period of 3 years which details the positive impacts enabled by the capital works undertaken. The Sandy Row Project has completed its 3 years of post-capital monitoring. Below are the capital and post capital infographics which highlight the key impacts of the project.
