PEACEPLUS (2021-2027) is a €1.1 billion funding partnership between the European Union, the Governments of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and the Northern Ireland Executive and will be administered by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

What is the aim of the Programme?

It will build upon the previous work of the PEACE IV and INNTERREG programmes, and aims to build peace and prosperity across Northern Ireland and the border region of Ireland. The programme has 6 themes, with a total of 22 investment areas.

What difference has the Programme made?

TEO is the Northern Ireland Accountable Department for 3 of these investment areas, totaling €170 million of funding:

  • 1.1 Co-designed Local Community Peace Action Plans (€110 million)- provides funding for councils to develop and deliver co-designed by the local community to address cross-community needs in the area.
  • 1.3 Building Positive Relations (€35 million)- supports projects which transcend local boundaries and have the potential to achieve significant peace and reconciliation across the programme area.
  • 4.3 Victims and Survivors (€25 million)- develops capacity for services to meet the needs of victims and survivors of the conflict.
